Field Coordinator, Jonglei State
Deng is a professional South Sudanese teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and Mathematics from Upper Nile University, Faculty of Education. He is currently based in WART’s Bentiu office in Unity State.
Before joining WART, Deng spent four years with Christ Mission Continues Ministry, working on educational projects for orphans and unaccompanied children affected by the 2013 South Sudan conflict. He also has over six years of experience in humanitarian program management, with a focus on education, protection, PSEA, and GBV prevention, effectively coordinating both short-term and long-term organizational goals.
Deng has also worked with Cat Walk to Freedom, advocating for the rights of young girls and women and aiming to end early and forced marriages. Additionally, he collaborated with Mealespoir, a French organization providing meals for orphans and unaccompanied children in Juba’s IDP Camp.
Since joining WART in 2022, Deng has co-led the Transitional Justice Project in partnership with UNMISS, benefiting 800 individuals living with disabilities in Bentiu. The project focused on educating beneficiaries about their rights and advocacy strategies. As Programme Officer, Deng is responsible for developing and implementing program strategies and work plans, including monitoring and evaluation plans. He manages and supports WART’s projects in Unity State, identifies communities and individuals in need of support services, and ensures effective dissemination of information and services.
