Head of Programs
Joy Nzaywa is a Health and Nutrition Specialist with over 13 years of experience working with governmental, and non-governmental organizations and UN agencies at national and international levels in Nutrition and Primary Health Care in 3 African countries. Joy is a renowned nutrition trainer in both Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM) and Community Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) programming.
She has excellent facilitation, coaching, mentoring, teamwork and coordination, managerial, communications and computer skills. Keen to use her skills and acquired experiences in the Health, Nutrition, WASH, FSL and Education sectors for the improvement of the dignity and health of most at-risk and vulnerable communities.
Before joining WART as the Head of Programs; Joy worked as Head of Programs for CAO South Sudan where she successfully implemented Health and Nutrition projects. Joy has also worked as Nutrition manager for UNIDOR South Sudan overseeing multi-million dollars projects in South Sudan. Joy has experience working with bilateral and multilateral donors including UNICEF, HPF, UNOCHA, USAID, HARISS, GOSS, Global Fund, Save the Children, WFP and WHO among others.
She has Masters degree in Public Health majoring on Epidemiology and Disease Control, Monitoring and Evaluation, and a bachelor’s degree in food, Nutrition and Dietetics, all from Kenyatta University. As the head of programs at WART; Joy is in charge of the day-to-day management of WART projects, the project teams and management of stakeholder relations.
